NY Times Best Illustrated Books of 2011

Now that my children are getting older, they are not as much interested in Illustrated books, they are wanting chapter books or comic books. Good thing baby number 3 is coming as I love them. I haven't stopped collecting them even though the children are not that interested. The illustrations are beautiful, if you don't have children still peruse through Children Book Dept, and you will be lost for hours. The NY Times just released their Best Illustrated Books of 2011, a trip to the book shop is needed!

Been Awhile...

Well I have been away for awhile, well not really away, but busy, i think the last post that I did was last day of school. I know it is now November, but other things have happened, one main thing is that I am onto number 3, yes 3 children, due in March... wow! A bit of a surprise, but all good. But now I am here to start things of with a little shake.. of the hips, the shoulders whatever you want to move. Many nights in our house while dinner is cooking or plates are getting cleaned we have dance offs. The Black Keys always gets everyone moving and I can see this one pulling through tonight. The moves this fellow makes is actually very similar to mine, I like to kind of act/dance songs out, much to the embarrassment of my children!
Cannot wait for the new album.

Pictures, so need not forget.

Every night before I go to bed I read the BBC World news on my Iphone, I listen to the radio during the day, though I hardly watch television, let alone our local news channel. I read about the wars that are going on throughout the world, look at the numbers of the terrible things that happen to the poor people living amongst these wars and political unrest and sometimes I read it but don't always make a connection to the people that this is happening to. People like us, with children and homes, that all of a sudden lose everything. I think always of my own little ones and being in situations like that. It is hard to fathom. These pictures are all from the site The Big Picture. If you have some time go through the different albums. (I also referred to this site with the Japan Tsunami.)

Daisy who? Daisy Lew

Daisy Lew produced these wonderful PopUps... AND the opening title sequence one of my favourite movies, The Royal Tenenbaums she must be one cool cat.

ps. did you know Wes Anderson is coming out with a new movie 'Moon Rise Kingdom'; Bill Murray Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, Harvey Keitel.. oooh the list goes on. Can't wait!!
